Me with 2nd Grader, Noel H., and her prize winning otter at the Padua Art Show, 2019-20.

I'm excited to teach your kids all about ART!

Since 2011 I have been active at the school in many roles -- Room Parent, PTU Volunteer, Lunch Aide, SMILE Office Coordinator, and Substitute Teacher. I have had the pleasure of creating friendships and relationships with both faculty and families over the years, and I was so thrilled to be hired to teach Art.

I also help out with the school's STEAM activities -- Recycle the Runway and Sewing FUNdamentals were my two focuses this year. And, I am the head of our school's Drama Club for the junior high grades.

I worked as a Graphic Designer for about 13+ years prior to having my daughter and then I decided to be a stay at home mom for a while. I hold a B.A. in Visual Arts and a M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications.

Visual Art -- and really, all of the Arts, is my passion and I am really excited to share my enthusiasm, excitement and knowledge.

Hi! I'm Mrs. Dawn Broadway -- "Mrs. B" to many of the little ones, and I'm your child's Art Teacher at Holy Family School -- I teach all ages -- Preschool thru 8th Grade. I started as the Art Teacher at the beginning of the 2018-19 school year. However, many of the kids already knew me because I've been an active parent/volunteer at the school since 2011.

Art Show(s)

Each year 12 students are selected to participate in the Padua Elementary Art Show. The show was held on Sunday, January 12, 2020.

In total, 20 local schools submitted entries for students in grades K through 8. Three students in each grade level received awards (for first, second and third place). The 7th and 8th grade winners received tuition vouchers for $250, $150 and $100.

I was so proud of our kids this year, 4 out of 12 of our submissions placed in their grade level. We had two primary school winners -- 1st and 2nd grade. And two junior high winners -- 7th and 8th grade.

Way to go HFS!!!

Unfortunately, due to the school closure we were unable to have our "Show of the Arts" this year. Miss Goode and I are looking forward to bringing back the show next year!
